Saketora is therefore interviewed the popular sake brewery 'Senjo' in Nagano Prefecture, tracing the brewing process of the brewery throughout the year, so that everyone can have a deep look into the sake making industry.
Similar to the history of sakura in Takato Castle, Senjo Brewery was established 155 years ago. Therefore, many of Senjo's products are related to sakura, such as 'Ouro' and 'Ouunkyo', so that every sake lovers can enjoy the sake and sakura at the same time.
Senjo Brewery is located in Takato in Shinshu, which is a famous cherry blossom location in Japan. Takato Castle, which has existed since the Edo period, have been planted sakura trees since 150 years ago and makes it become one of the most famous cherry blossom viewing spots, attracting many tourists to visit every year.
What do breweries do in spring?
- In normal cases, the sake brewed in winter is completed before April. Therefore, there would have a lot of new sakes come onto the market in April, and due to this, many sake promotion activities are held for the breweries, bottle shops and related industries. During this period, breweries always hold different activities, such as brewery visit tour, sake tasting, etc. Although the number of activities has been reduced due to the COVID-19 now, you must not miss the chance to visit the breweries if you visit Japan next time.
