About SAKETORA - Company Profile

The company that runs SAKETORA.

Message from the CEO

Thanks to the continued support of our partners and customers, Kontatsu Co., Ltd. marked its 100th anniversary in 2024.

Since our founding in the aftermath of the Great Kanto Earthquake, we have weathered numerous challenges over the past century — including the turmoil of World War II, when much of Tokyo was reduced to ashes, as well as more recent events such as the Great East Japan Earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic. Through each of these trials, we have remained committed to our belief in "the heart of the maker" and "the joy of drinking and eating," striving to stand at the very center of these values and to contribute to a richer and more fulfilling food culture for consumers.

While cherishing the traditions and trust cultivated over our 100-year history, we continue to embrace change and take on new challenges in step with the times. Building upon our core wholesale business, we have expanded into new fields including third-party logistics (3PL), D2C businesses (both domestic and cross-border e-commerce), as well as export and import operations.

At SAKETORA, we operate our business guided by three core policies, with the aim of connecting Japanese craftsmanship and food culture with customers around the world.

  • ① Same as Japanese market price.
At SAKETORA, our product prices are based on the standard retail prices in Japan, with only minimal site operation costs and region-specific shipping fees added. This allows our customers to enjoy prices that are nearly the same as purchasing directly in Japan.
  • ② Over 10,000 items.
At SAKETORA, we offer a selection of over 10,000 products, focusing on Japanese alcoholic beverages such as sake, craft beer, and shochu.
  • ③ Minimum delivery time: 10 days.
At SAKETORA, we deliver fresh products to your doorstep in as little as 10 days.

Rather than pursuing growth in scale for its own sake, Kontatsu Co., Ltd. strives to be a "Tokyo-local unique company"—one that possesses distinctive capabilities and remains genuinely needed by society. As we look toward the next 100 years, we are committed to continuing on our own path with a long-term perspective and a strong sense of purpose.

We sincerely appreciate your continued support and guidance.
