Started since 2017, Kura Master is a big-scaled sake competition held in France. Unlike its counterpart in Japan, Kura Master emphasizes the concept of “terroir”. Other than “Junmai”, “Junmai Daiginjo” and “Sparkling sake”, there are awards distinguished by sake rices. All the judges have to be French, all of whom are professionals from restaurants, hotels, sommeliers and also the holders of of the French highest qualification MOF (Meilleur Ouvrier de France).
